Kapil Thapa in Love with Sourabhee Debbarma

The Kapil-Sourabhee love story can be told now. In fact, Kapil himself confessed in as many words and that too on stage. When asked to sing a song, a romantic number, he sang Pehla pehla pyar… and went on to serenade a blushing Sourabhee. Her loving reply was a tad different. She sang Yeh ladka hai Allah kaisa hai deewana… it came straight from her heart – after all the two had their little lovers’ tiff and had been sulking for a while before that. Unlike other romances that bloom during reality shows and wilt without a trace immediately after, Kapil Thapa’s love story seems to be for real and here to stay – it is the word of honor of an Army man. And even when he returns to his regiment we hope he remains posted close to the North-East!

The Soldies is a great charmer

Kapil Thapa, the soldier boy, has always been the most shy and reticent of the Indian Idol participants. Always disciplined and proper, he makes his regiment proud even when amongst the boisterous group. He is warm, always smiling and chatting with his newfound friends. When he isn’t keeping an eye over Remo, his protégé, he is in the charmed circle of girls. Looks like he has charmed one a lot more than the others—Sourabhee, for one, seems quite smitten by his quiet charm.

Kapil Thapa from Dehradun is an army man. He is a tough disciplinarian, but has a soft voice that can melt any heart. Although he hasn’t learnt music professionally, he enjoys the art as a hobby. Influenced by Indian Idol 3, Kapil participated in an orchestra contest where his band won the first prize.

After seeing Prashant Tamang crowned the Indian Idol last season, Kapil decided to try his luck in Indian Idol 4. Now his only dream is to make his army men proud and take his singing talent to newer heights.
